We are pleased to announce Paul Byrnes as the new Vice President of Distributor Development for NetPlus Alliance.
Byrnes brings a wealth of experience to NetPlus Alliance, having worked 40 years in the distribution industry, including 30 years in industrial distribution. Prior to joining NetPlus Alliance, he has been with United Stationers/ORS Nasco for the past 19 years, including the last 11 years with ORS Nasco as Regional Sales Director. At ORS Nasco Byrnes worked closely with independent distributors to grow their businesses. Byrnes sees his new role at NetPlus Alliance very similarly.
“My primary objective at NetPlus will be to assist independent distributor members to be more competitive and more profitable in the marketplace,” said Paul Byrnes. “It’s a constant challenge for the independent distributor to sustain and thrive in a business climate that includes large, national sales distribution organizations. It will be my job to help members overcome any disadvantages they may have in size or reach through our combined NetPlus Alliance member buying power. These and other NetPlus benefits give members a much greater chance to flourish. They’re not out there fighting it alone. We’re with them every step of the way wherever they need support.”
Byrnes will begin working with NetPlus Alliance starting January 6, 2014 and will be based out of Pittsburgh. Primary responsibilities will include making personal visits to existing NetPlus members, providing guidance to support members in their business, assisting in the application of best practices, as well as increasing the NetPlus distributor member base. He will also build relationships with distributors at key NetPlus Alliance events, such as the group’s national meeting held March 16-18, 2014 at the M Resort in Las Vegas and other regional meetings.
“Paul has the experience to really help our members do more,” added NetPlus Alliance President Jennifer Murphy. “One of our main goals is to increase face-to-face engagement and relationship building, because that remains the most effective means for success in strengthening our industry and the American supply chain. Paul will be a great resource in that regard to help members become more profitable through NetPlus Alliance programs, services and benefits.”
Paul Byrnes is a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is also a member of several industrial trade groups, including ISA (Industrial Supply Association), ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association), STAFDA (Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association), GAWDA (Gases And Welding Distributors Association) and NSC (National Safety Council).
He and his wife of over 30 years are proud parents of three grown children.
